Welcome

Hi, I’m Pablo, a certified full-stack JavaScript web-developer with a mix background in architecture and ex hostel owner.

My main expertise lies in JavaScript, along with its libraries and frameworks, particularly React and React Native. I am continuously learning and evolving, currently focusing on React Native with expo and TypeScript developing a very cool Fitness App

About Me

Background

Born in Chile, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and worked in the field for over 4 years. My studies took me to Germany, where I spent time at the TU Braunschweig. Driven by a desire to explore the world, I spent a transformative year in Asia, earning a TTC in Yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas and engaging in various permaculture and wellness projects.

Exploration and Freelance Work

For the past 5+ years, I have been living in Germany. During this time, I have explored different paths, including teaching yoga in Berlin and freelancing as a 3D artist.

Entrepreneurial Ventures

Before joining CareerFoundry's 10-month intensive Full-Stack Bootcamp to deepen my knowledge in web development, I opened and designed my own hostel for digital nomads, Urban Monk Hostel, which hosted the Mostar Street Art Festival.

Transition to Web Development

Realizing the potential to integrate technology and wellness, I delved into web development. Starting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I soon joined CareerFoundry's 11-month intensive Full-Stack Bootcamp to deepen my knowledge and earning a Full-Stack web developer certificate.

My work method is quite systematic and involves a blend of traditional and modern techniques:

  • Sketching and Planning: I like to use old-school pen and notebook to sketch and draw ideas for the project. This helps me visualize and outline the project.
  • Information Gathering: I collect information on how to develop the project and determine the appropriate tech stack to use.
  • Database Setup: Depending on the project requirements, I start by building the database, often using technologies like Firestore.
  • UI Design: I proceed to design the user interface, focusing on creating an organized and flexible template. This initial stage is crucial as it ensures that the design can be easily modified in the future without encountering significant problems.
  • Reliable is better Since the code will get huge very fast, I think one of the best work practices is to check every piece of new code, since you dont want to find out 500 lines after that there is something crashing somewhere.

Future Career Path

I am keen to leverage my diverse background to create innovative and sustainable web solutions. My goal is to contribute to projects across various sectors including e-commerce, fitness and wellness. When I'm not coding, you can find me climbing, cycling, or taking cold plunges.
